Located high above Toulon, Mont Faron is one of the most spectacular natural sites in the Var. Reaching 584 metres above sea level, it offers an exceptional 360° panorama of the harbour, the Mediterranean Sea and the islands of Hyères. It can be reached in several ways: by car, on foot for hikers, or via the famous Mont Faron cable car, which offers a rapid, panoramic ascent. For the more sporty, the climb up Mont Faron by bike is a renowned challenge in the region. This legendary climb, with its twisting bends and demanding slopes, attracts many amateur and experienced cyclists every year. From Camping l’Artaudois, the site can be reached in around 20 minutes by car, making it an ideal half-day excursion during your camping vacation in the Var, between sport, nature and grandiose landscapes.

Once at the summit, there’s no shortage of things to do: hiking on marked trails, picnic areas, photographic viewpoints, as well as a visit to the Mémorial du Débarquement de Provence, an emotionally-charged site retracing the history of the Liberation in 1944. To extend the experience, there’s a panoramic restaurant where you can have lunch or a drink overlooking one of the most beautiful views of the Var coastline.
